This vehicle is an absolute rarity and an outstanding collector’s car. Only 446 examples of the 500 GE were ever produced, all of them built by AMG and equipped with the legendary M117 engine.
All vehicles were originally delivered in Amethyst Blue metallic as standard. However, the example offered here is an absolute exception: at the explicit request and order of Brabus, this vehicle was finished in the special color Blue-Black metallic(Code 199). As shown on the data card, the paintwork was carried out specifically on behalf of Brabus before the vehicle was delivered directly there.
Once at Brabus, the vehicle received an extensive conversion already as a new car. This included, among other things, the engine displacement increase to 5.6 liters, a complete re-trim of the interior in Brabus buffalo / mastic leather, a Brabus speedometer, Brabus wood trim, Brabus exhaust system, Brabus side steps, Brabus alloy wheels, a Brabus suspension setup, and further period-correct Brabus components.
The history of this vehicle is equally exceptional: it was originally ordered by the founder of Rhön-Klinikum AG. In 2002, the vehicle was sold to a cardiac surgeon from the same hospital group.
The vehicle has been extensively and comprehensively restored by us. For this purpose, the body was separated from the frame to ensure a complete and proper restoration. With the exception of the interior, which was preserved in its original condition and only carefully refurbished, all components were either renewed or restored to the highest standard.
Documentation includes, among other things, the original service book and the first vehicle registration document from 1993, including all entries relating to the Brabus modifications.
